Brussels tram lines will resume operation again following a spontaneous strike this morning, transport operator STIB said shortly before noon on Tuesday. The 9, 19, 51, 81, 82 and 97 trams were not running Tuesday morning. Employees from three STIB depots had decided to stop work following an attack at the Lemonnier station in the city centre, according to reports.
"This morning, some staff members felt that this station was dangerous," said Françoise Ledune, spokeswoman for the STIB. No staff members were involved in this attack, added Ledune.
An agreement was reached between the management and the representatives of STIB workers. Workers returned to work, but only in two of the three strike depots, reports RTBF.
Delays are still possible.
