Brussels opens a training track for motorbikes

A new training track for motorbikes was opened in Haren on Sunday.

It was opened to mark the third Biker’s Day. “This new site fills a gap that was highlighted by various motorbike associations and the Driving School Federation”, according to State Secretary for Road Safety Bianca Debaets and Karin Genoe, the delegate administrator for the VIAS Institute.

This new track is 3,500 metres squared and is located at the Road Safety Institute in Haren.

“Up until now, learner bikers could use the Euroveiling carpark in Neder-Over-Heembeek. But this track is no longer accessible. The exam centre in Schaerbeek has also had no training track since last year”, says Bianca Debaerts.

“Worsening traffic problems mean more and more people are opting to travel by motorbike. But you have to learn to ride. We are happy we have solved Brussels’ training track problem by making this one available”, said Karin Genoe.
