The metro station Érasme had to be evacuated on Thursday morning due to plumes of smoke coming from under a subway train.
The Line 5 services are interrupted, firefighters are on site.
The smoke originated the brakes of the subway train overheating when it stopped at the station Erasme, said Walter Derieuw, spokesman for the firefighters of Brussels. The station was evacuated for safety reasons, no injuries were reported.
