Fire in Anderlecht tyre shop

A fire has broken out in a tyre shop in Anderlecht, according to reports from the scene. The size of the fire is unknown, but the vast clouds of smoke are visible from far away, an onlooker told the Brussels Times.

Police have closed off the streets, and fire services are on the scene on rue des deux Gares.

"The fire is under control," confirmed the fire service spokesman, adding that there have been no injuries.

Mobility in the neighbourhood has been impacted by the three fire engines required on site. Buses 78 between the Midi station and Petite-Île are the most hit.
