Two injured in a fight at Brussels North Station

Two people were slightly injured on Monday during a fight at Brussels North Station, according to the Brussels public prosecutor. The fight is said to have started near the bicycle parking facility of the station, but the exact reason is still unclear.

The confrontation was between several men, with a knife and a broken bottle being used, according to reports. The police were able to arrest three suspects on the scene.

Safety at the Brussels North station has been the subject of scrutiny lately, with moves to improve security in and around the station championed by various Brussels officials. This includes an effort to close the station at night - rather than leaving it open - and relocating the bus stops to a less obscured part of the area.
