A sixteen-year old was taken to the hospital after she was hit by a car in the Brussels municipality of Schaerbeek Tuesday morning.
The accident took place in the crossroads of Avenue Diamant and Avenue Leon Mahillon, where the 16-year-old was knocked down by a vehicle.
Police established a security perimeter around the scene, where emergency response services arrived at around 8:20 AM.
The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and police administered a blood-alcohol-level test, which was negative.
The victim was taken to the hospital with complaints of leg pains, but police from the Brussels north zone told La Dernière Heure that her life was not in danger.
The security perimeter was lifted at around 9:30 AM, and authorities are still trying to determine how the accident took place.
