Several shots were fired in the Avenue Wielemans Ceuppens in Forest in the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, reported Belgian media on Thursday.

Around 4:00 AM on Wednesday, someone on a scooter with a firearm drove around in the vicinity of a shisha bar near the Avenue Wielemans Ceuppens. Once at the bar, the perpetrator stopped and shot at the windows and the door.

Five bullet holes were found in a parked vehicle as well, but nobody was injured. The public prosecutor has appointed a ballistic expert to investigate the shooting, and the federal police also investigated the scene.

The police confirm that there was a shooting in the area, but does not give much clarity about the circumstances. The neighbourhood, however, is known for drug trafficking, and the shooting most likely had something to do with settling a score, reported Bruzz.

A similar incident happened a week ago in the municipality when a man on a scooter opened fire on the street. "For the time being, there is no link between the two cases," said Denis Goeman from the Brussels public prosecutor's office.
