Brussels will get a taste of Scottish culture for a week, as a world-famous art festival alights in the Belgian capital on Tuesday.
The Edinburgh Festival Fringe, held in venues across the Scottish capital every year, will come to Brussels under the name Made in Scotland Festival.
For its Belgian edition, the event, sometimes referred to as The Fringe, will feature six different spectacles, including plays, concerts and dance shows.
The festival, which will be launched by Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, was brought to Brussels in an attempt to bring Scottish and European culture closer together.
"The Made in Scotland Festival is a symbol of Scotland's will to maintain its cultural links with our friends in the European Union and the international community," Fiona Hyslop, Scottland's Culture secretary said.
Echoing the festival's original set-up in Scotland, the Belgian version will be held in venues across the city, including the Halles Saint-Gery in the centre, the De Kriekelaar community centre in Schaerbeek or the Recyclart art venue in Molenbeek.
The Made in Scotland Festival will run from 11 to 14 June in several locations in Brussels (Halles Saint-Géry, De Kriekelaar, Beursschouwburg, Théatre de la Vie, Zinnema, Recyclart). Free entrance.
