Two vehicles catch fire near Brussels-Midi station

Two vehicles caught fire on Rue des Marchandises in Anderlecht, near Brussels-Midi station, at around 7:30 AM on Wednesday morning.

The fires spread to a nearby construction site and ten people were forced to evacuate, reports BX1.

Firefighters arrived quickly on the scene. The two vehicles, a Citroën Berlingo and an old bus, were destroyed by the fires.

Nobody was injured, confirmed spokesperson of the Brussels fire department, Walter Derieuw.

A suspect was arrested on-site, but the individual was not connected to the fire.

"We have not caught the culprit," said police spokesperson, Serge Bouchez, reports Bruzz.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
