The Brussels-Capital Region reported an annual increase of 4.4% in its job seekers at the end of January, according to data from Actiris published on Monday.
The unemployment rate now stands at 15.2%.
Compared to January 2023, the number of job seekers under 25 has grown by 12.3% (+1,174 individuals). There is also a 5.0% rise (+2,724 individuals) in the 25-49 age group.
However, the category of those aged 50 and over remains unchanged (+0.0%, +5 individuals).
On a monthly basis, the number of job seekers slightly fell by 158 persons (-0.2%), with 10,244 new entries into unemployment and 10,402 departures.
