Hungary’s Viktor Orban was this week promoted to prime minister of Türkiye by Donald Trump, fulfilling a long-time ambition to be a Turkic leader. Orban has reportedly “never been happier”.
During yet another political rally somewhere in Who Cares America this week, Donald Trump told his baying supporters that Viktor Orban is a “great guy” and a “great leader of Türkiye”, completely altering the political landscape of Europe’s East.
Instead of being insulted by the former president inability to remember who he actually is, Orban seized on Trump's words as a political mandate to take up a new role as prime minister of both Hungary and Türkiye, telling journalists that “the people have spoken”.
Orban, a long-time member of the Turkic Council, which Hungary is somewhat inexplicably a part of, was reportedly “utterly delighted” by Trump’s decision and he immediately jumped on a plane to Ankara to check out his new offices.
The current Turkish prime minister was not available for comment.
A close aide to the double-hatted PM revealed that Orban “will take some time to get accustomed to how things are done in Türkiye. It’s a completely different kind of corruption there and there’s far less EU funding to embezzle.”
“He’s a real master of his craft though so I’m sure it won’t take long for him to get up to speed,” the source added.
