Famous transgender YouTuber to present the Eurovision Song Contest online

Nikkie de Jager, a Dutch social media sensation, who recently revealed she is transgender, on Monday announced she would be introducing the next Eurovision Song Contest (taking place in the Netherlands) on-line.

"Say hello to your online presenter of the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest," taking place in May in Rotterdam, Nikkie de Jager, known as NikkieTutorials, declared in a video on YouTube. The platform has made her known worldwide for her make-up tutorials. She has a following of more than 13 million people on YouTube and Instagram.

The 25-year-old YouTuber was speaking alongside Dutch singer Duncan Laurence, the winner of the previous contest held last year in Tel Aviv, Israel.

De Jager will be live-tweeting the event via the Eurovision social network accounts and YouTube, the organisers stated. She will additionally be making screen appearances during the semi-finals and final, and will record in advance some YouTube series with contestants from various countries.

De Jager's make-up tutorials have made her one of the most famous YouTubers in this field. She has notably collaborated with several American stars, including the reality television celebrity Kim Kardashian and singers Lady Gaga and Katy Perry.

In January, the YouTuber revealed she was transgender in a video since viewed more than 32 million times.
