Deep in the Ardennes, the town of Vielsalm has marked out several hiking trails that take you through forests and old villages.
No need for a car to get here. It’s one of the only towns in the Ardennes with a train station.
A map near the station is marked with four hiking routes. Sometimes they follow roads. But most of the time you are on empty tracks through the pine and beech woods.
At the end of the walk, head to the local cafe O’s Arcades opposite the church where they brew their own beer. Then walk back to the station along the lakeside.
