Gas prices in Europe fell on Monday to their lowest level since the end of July, due to the fact that gas stocks are now almost full.

On the main Dutch futures market, the price of gas fell below €170 per megawatt hour (Mwh), whereas it was still above €300 at the end of August.

However, the current price is still much higher that what it was before the war in Ukraine.

Europe's gas supply is a little less worrying, thanks in particular to large deliveries of liquefied natural gas (LNG), which has replaced Russian gas transported by pipeline.

More gas is also coming from Norway, now that maintenance work has been completed there.
