Belgian football team KV Kortrijk's return to Jupiler League action after the winter break is in doubt with 14 members of staff testing positive, the club announced Tuesday.

19 players and staff tested positive for Covid infections on Monday, with five released from quarantine pending fresh tests on Wednesday to determine whether Friday's Premier League match at Ghent can go ahead.

"We do not give the names of individual cases, out of respect for the privacy of our players and staff," the club said on its website.

Currently 8th in the country's top division, requests to the league to postpone matches are allowed if seven players — or even two goalkeepers — in the first-team squad are ruled out sick.
