The use of a smart blood-glucose monitor linked to a mobile application allows for a “significant improvement” in blood-sugar control in patients with diabetes, according to a study published on Monday on the occasion of World Diabetes Day.
For this study, researchers examined the results of 4,154 people with type 1 diabetes and 13,623 people with type 2 diabetes from a database of the specialist company Lifescan.
The analysis shows that the use of the connected glucose metre resulted in improved glucose results, a reduction in results, and a reduction in average glucose readings in all patients.
