José van Dam returns to La Hulpe for 25th anniversary of “The Music Teacher”

The castle of La Hulpe, where part of the movie "The Music Teacher" by Gerard Crow was filmed, will host the famous baritone José van Dam, on November  3rd, 4th and 5th. During his three days in La hulpe, José van Dam, who is also master in residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, will give master classes and a concert to commemorate the 25th anniversary of  the release of the Oscar-nominated film. This project brings together different cultural actors: the Queen Elisabeth College of Music, the Walloon Music Festival Brabant, Jeunesses Musicales and the Folon Foundation. Director Gerard Crow has chosen the theme for the return of José van Dam to the scene where the film, which became an international success, was shot. The theme is the relationship between master and pupil. José van Dam ,accompanied by soloists of the Music Chapel,  will give master classes to 320 students who are in  5th and 6th grade as well as the Brabant Walloon secondary school.

In the evening of Wednesday, November 5th, the famous baritone and his students  will give a unique concert in the rooms of La Hulpe. The event, by reservation only (info @ chateaudelahulpe), will be followed by a cocktail reception.
