The 93rd edition of the Brussels Car Show will be open to the public from January 16th to 25th next year. As usual in odd years, the Car Show will focus on commercial vehicles and trucks as well as recreational vehicles and motorcycles. Febiac (Belgian Federation of Automobile and Cycle Industries) is organising the event, and hoping to reach 390,000 visitors this year, improving on the record 385,000 achieved in 2013, Febiac announced on Friday. Several new models will be revealed, including 7 new European vehicles and 30 Belgian models unseen as yet. The new Audi A1, which is assembled in Brussels, is amongst vehicles in a worldwide preview.
6 halls will be dedicated to light commercial vehicles and recreational vehicles, emphasising their importance, according to Febiac.
Halls 1 and 3 will be reserved for Motorcycles. A space will also be set up for companies which refit and adapt commercial vehicles. The “Ecotrack” test road will once again circle the Hall 1, to showcase hybrid, electric, or CNG (compressed natural gas) vehicles. Visitors can also enjoy the “Offroad track” on the plaza between Halls 1 and 3. The press release explains that the track will be made of natural hurdles and spectacular crossings.
The “Dream Cars” exhibition will also open in Hall 11 for the 3rd consecutive odd year. Visitors will be able to admire the most beautiful cars of the automobile industry on Friday January 23rd, Saturday the 24th and Sunday the 25th for an additional 5 euro entrance fee.
Halls 11 and 12 will be reserved for the road transport industry from January 16th to 19th.
The Car Show will be officially opened by Prince Laurent on January 15th.
