Eurovision - Loïc Nottet to represent Belgium in first round of semi-finals on May 19th

Loïc Nottet will be the 7th act up when he represents Belgium in the Eurovision song contest in Vienna on May 19th, the organisers announced on Monday. The second round of semi-finals will be held on Thursday, May 21st.  Vienna will host the final of the 60th Eurovision Song Contest on Saturday The final of the 60th Eurovision Song Contest will take place on Saturday May 23rd. Several countries (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Great Britain and the host country, Austria) automatically qualified for the final and  will be joined by the countries scoring highest in the semi-finals.

Loïc Nottet will be singing for Belgium against countries such as The Netherlands, Finland, Russia and Denmark.

The young singer was spotted when he appeared on RTBF’s popular TV talent show “The Voice Belgium” when he narrowly lost out in the final of the last season of the music program to serviceman Laurent Pagna.

Following in the steps of Roberto Bellarosa and Axel Hirsoux, this young man from Courcelles is the third candidate from “The Voice Belgium” to sing for Belgium at the Eurovision.

On the show, he was mentored by BJ Scott and, at the age of 18, has signed a contract with Sony Music Entertainment.
