“Black” show-times changed at Kinepolis in Brussels

The management of Brussels’ Kinepolis with the directors and producers of the film “Black” as well as Kinepolis Film Distribution, have decided to change the show-times for the film, revealed the cinema in a press release on Friday. Friday’s schedule was cancelled and the film will be shown only once a day on Saturday and Sunday.

Kinepolis explains Friday’s cancellations by mentioning “the crowds expected at the Heysel site for the friendly match between Italy and Belgium at the Roi Baudoin stadium.”

Only one showing will take place, at 1:45pm, on both Saturday and Sunday. This is explained by the “massive demand in the first few days” and the determination of “everyone involved (to) make sure Black is shown in a peaceful and friendly atmosphere during this first very busy weekend.” The schedules will be back to normal after the weekend – two showings per afternoon and one at 8.00pm.

A showing had to be cancelled at Kinepolis on Wednesday, following incidents between members of the audience and policemen. The film is rated 16+, which led to Kinepolis carrying out identity checks before screening on Thursday, and threatening to stop showing Black if more incidents occurred.
