The Executive Board of the cultural festival Europalia Indonesia 2017 has appointed Michèle Sioen as Commissioner-General of Europalia Indonesia for Belgium, the event organisers indicated on Thursday. Michèle Sioen is both CEO of the textile group Sioen Industries and the President of the Fédération des Entreprises de Belgique (FEB - the federation of Belgium Businesses). She also holds other directorships, in particular with D'ieteren and ING Belgium.
Europalia is a biennial festival for arts and culture in a given country. The one devoted to Indonesia will take place from October 10th, 2017 to January 21st, 2018.
Exhibitions, concerts, films, theatre performances and literary events are, amongst other things, planned for tens of towns in Belgium in addition to other cities all over Europe.
