Steve Ditko, the co-creator of popular super-hero Spiderman, passed away on the 29th of June. He was 90 years old. Several American papers reported on the story on Friday.
Ditko worked for world-famous publishing house Marvel Comics back in the 60s, where he co-created Spiderman in 1961. He created Doctor Strange two years later. He also created the Green Goblin, the Lizard, Sandman and Doctor Octopus.
Ditko left Marvel in 1966, after a disagreement with Stan Lee (Editor-in chief). He then worked for several other publishing houses, including Marvel’s rival DC comics.
Steve Ditko was found dead in his New York apartment last week. Sources say he probably died of a heart attack.
