“Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience”: This exhibition will take up residence as of 10 October in the Palais de la Bourse, Brussels. The audio and visual tour, that includes 3D screenings, will plunge the visitor into the very heart of the Dutch painter’s work.
This project, set up by Belgian firms Exhibition Hub and MB Presents, puts technology at the service of art and creates a proximity between visitor and the art work.
The tour contains three parts. The first relates Vincent Van Gogh’s discovery of painting, his research in style and his correspondence with his brother. Throughout the tour, the paintings come alive and interact, allowing the public to best explore the painter’s works.
The lights then go out gradually, so that the true immersive experience begins, with a focus on two major works: “Wheat Field with Crows” and “Starry Night.”
The third and last part is dedicated to Van Gogh’s taciturn temperament and the times when he sank into folly and alcohol, the organizers underline.
Another set-up gives the visitor the opportunity to use a virtual reality headset to “experiment a sunrise within the painter’s body, in the town of Arles,” France, yet another promenade around seven of the artist’s works.
The exhibition will start on 10 October and will be open every day, except Tuesday, from 10 am to 6 pm.
