20,000 visitors last week-end at Pairi Daiza's seasonal opening

About 20,000 people visited Pairi Daiza during the opening weekend of the season, the park’s spokesperson Matthew Godfrey said Sunday. "We are pleased that so many people keep coming to the park." The Pairi Daiza Park (Brugelette, Hainaut), nominated "Best zoo in Europe," for the second consecutive year, celebrates its 25thbirthday this year.

New residents will delight visitors: "Sungai", a baby orang-utan; three camels; a saki; a kanchil; golden takins; a penguin; a baby Asian elephant. But our star panda Tian Bao Park will probably attract the most again this season.

This year’s "silver celebration" will present a new world: The last frontier. Visitors will find themselves throughout its eight hectares in a setting that is reminiscent of British Columbia (Canada). Different types of accommodation (hotels and bungalows) will be available in the middle of an animal population of brown and black bears, wolves, deer, beaver, sea lions, etc.

Pairi Daiza, closed as usual as of 11 November, will reopen just a short month later for a Christmas atmosphere from 14 December 14 to 5 January 2020.
