The body of a cyclotourist was found on Saturday afternoon in the Albert Canal at Vroenhoven, near Riemst, on the border with the Netherlands.
The victim appeared to have fallen into the water while cycling and drowned. Since his bicycle was not damaged, investigators believe no third party was involved.
The identity of the cyclotourist, who appeared to be over 70 years old, was not immediately known.
