The SNCB railway company has developed a new tool that passengers can use to monitor the punctuality of their trains.
Train passengers will be able to see if their train is punctual. The tool will not only show if the train reaches its terminal station in time, but also the arrival time at the separate stations where the train stops.
Until now, punctuality figures were published once per month. "Although these data are useful to evaluate the evolution of the global punctuality of trains, they do not necessarily reflect the personal experience of the passenger," SNCB said in a press release.

The company wants to offer more transparency about punctuality figures, and hopes to eventually integrate them into real-time information for each individual train, for example via the route planner on the SNCB app or website.
"With the 'My train' tool, [passengers] can view the punctuality of their own train per day. In this way, commuters can check the daily punctuality of their personal train rides," the company said.
