The Consultative Committee has reached an agreement on a partial restart of Belgium's HoReCa sector, according to a statement by the office of Prime Minister Alexander De Croo.

While further details were not given at the time, Belgian media is reporting that terraces will be allowed to reopen from 8 May.

This news follows reports that from 26 April non-medical contact professions, such as hairdressers, will likely also be allowed to open again, and people’s “outdoor bubble” will reportedly be expanded to ten people, according to reports in several local media.

Stores will be able to reopen fully – without by-appointment shopping – from the same date, according to reports.

Further information on all changes is expected during a press conference set to be held from 5:00 PM.
