After being disrupted by the heavy flooding that ravaged many areas in Belgium, train services will resume on Monday morning between Gembloux and Namur, and between Pepinster and Welkenraedt, an Infrabel spokesperson told Belga news agency on Sunday.

The tracks and signalling installations at the Dinant station, flooded on Saturday evening, will be functional from Monday morning for traffic to and from Namur.

The service between Gembloux and Ottignies will continue to be run by shuttle buses due to work being done to stabilise embankments at Mont-Saint-Guibert. Normal service is scheduled to be restored by 9 August.

The resumption of service on the Ottignies-Leuven line is scheduled for 2 August. The same goes for the lines linking Liège to Bomal, on one hand, and to Trois Ponts, on the other hand.

Train services between Gembloux and Auvelais are also scheduled to resume on 2 August.

During the weekend, many regions which were already badly affected following last week's floods, including Namur and other Walloon cities, once again experienced heavy rainfall, resulting in more damage and disruption.
