Murder in Haren: Alleged suspect placed under arrest

The alleged suspect in the murder of a young man who worked in the shop of a night service station in Haren was placed under arrest and charged with murder to facilitate theft. The man had voluntarily surrendered to the Brussels-Ixelles police on Monday afternoon, said prosecutors on Tuesday. The murder took place on Saturday night in the night shop of a Haacht gas station in Haren. The victim, a 22 year old man, worked at the gas station. His lifeless body was discovered by customers who immediately called the emergency services. They tried in vain to resuscitate the young man but were unsuccessful.

The suspect is in custody and appeared before the judge on Tuesday.
