On Sunday evening at around 8.30p.m., a man was the victim of an attempted murder in Marchienne-au-Pont (Charleroi). He was shot twice, slashed with a machete and probably also run over by his attackers. The man was walking down a road adjacent to Avenue Pasteur in Marchienne-au-Pont when he became the victim of an attempted murder. He was shot at and hit twice. His attackers also slashed him with a bladed machete-type weapon and also probably ran over him with their car. The burnt out shell of the car was found shortly afterwards in Monceau-sur-Sambre (Charleroi).
The victim was assisted by paramedics and in a critical condition when found. To date, no explanation for the attack has come to light. The local Charleroi police visited the scene and are currently investigating the incident.
