On Thursday night, at around half past midnight, a car with 3 people inside crashed into a parked truck in Jument (Charleroi). The accident caused one fatality and the 2 other people are currently in a critical condition. The accident happened in Rue Joseph Reuters in Jument, says Charleroi emergency services. A motorist veered off course and crashed headlong into a parked lorry although it has not yet been determined what caused the driver to do so.
Charleroi firefighters and the SMUR assisted on the scene but were not able to save one of the three people, who died onsite. The two other people in the car were seriously injured and taken to hospital.
Charleroi local police were dispatched to establish the facts. The exact circumstances of this fatal accident remain unclear.
