Banks, post offices and (most) supermarkets closed this Saturday

November 1st falls on a Saturday this year and banks, post offices and most supermarkets will be closed in observance of the holiday. As for supermarkets, exceptions are still possible, and the independents may decide to open their store for the entire day, or just part of it. According to Isabelle Marchand, spokeswoman for FEBELFIN, "Banks will be closed on Saturday, just like on a Sunday."

At Bpost, all offices will also be closed on Saturday. "The Post Point located in open shops will also remain open" says Bpost spokesman Piet Van Speybroeck.

At Delhaize, most AD and Proxy stores will remain open on November 1st. The list of open shops can be found on www.delhaize.be

Hypermarkets Carrefour and Carrefour Market will be closed on Saturday, except franchised stores, the managers of which may or may not decide to open. More than 230 Carrefour Markets will open their doors on Saturday. More information is available on www.carrefour.eu

Chris Tournicourt has announced Colruyt supermarkets will be closed on Saturday. "However, independent Spar Retail store managers, which are part of the Colruyt Group, may decide to open their supermarkets for the day, or part of it. They have advised their clientele about their schedules through notices to this effect.”

Finally, Lidl and Aldi stores will be closed on Saturday.
