For 2015, Télé Bruxelles has decided on 'out with the old, in with the new' for its program schedule, with five new ideas to look out for on your screens. It also intends some small changes to its repeat programme offer. Regional television in particular will enjoy programming with a more cultural slant with the arrival of a new magazine, LCR -"Le courier recommandé" ("registered post"). From Tuesdays to Fridays, journalist David Courier will invite players from the cultural arena to a 12-minutes discussion on current affairs in fields as diverse as theatre, literature, design, fashion...
In a joint project with the daily L'Echo, Télé Bruxelles will be broadcasting "Big Boss", a monthly financial programme, on weekends starting at the end of January. The 26-minute show will meet the CEOs of large companies located in Brussels, both international and national.
"Abdel cherche un emploi" (Abdel is looking for a job), another programme dealing with the economy and sponsored by Actiris and Bruxelles-Formation, has a humourous take on informing people about available employment and training opportunities.
In the entertainment arena, the game show is set to make a comeback on the regional channel with "Chronotime", filmed on the streets of Brussels.
Another 2015 newbie is a rebroadcast of its 6:00pm news bulletin for sign language users, to be shown Mondays to Fridays at 10:00pm from March onwards. Regional TV already offered a weekly subtitled programme but "our aim is now to ensure that everyone has daily access to the news, including the hard-of-hearing," says Télé Bruxelles.
It's thanks to better management of production costs that we're able to offer this new programme, said Fabrice Grosfilley, head of Télé Bruxelles.
In addition to these new programmes, Télé-Bruxelles also intends to re-vamp its repeat programme offer; on weekday evenings, the original one-hour repeat programme window will go up to 2 hours.
