Thirteen people were arrested during twelve searches on Thursday night, announced the Federal Prosecution Service on Friday morning. Two searches were conducted in Verviers, six in Molenbeek, one at Anderlecht, one in Brussels, one in Berchem-Sainte-Agathe and another in Liedekerke. Several military weapons, handguns and explosives were seized during the searches. The police also found a large sum of money, as well as some police equipment and fake documents.
The investigation concluded that the attacks were going to target working police officers in the street or in police stations.
