Anti-terrorism measures - enhanced security in the military

Belgian soldiers have been issued strict safety precautions to take to face the terrorist threat head on. Checks on Army bases have also been stepped up, revealed the Defence press service on Friday. The chief of staff for the armed forces advised the military to be especially vigilant with regards to the terrorist threat. He also requested they be very careful about what they post on social networks. For the foreseeable future, military personnel are no longer to wear uniform when travelling to and from their place of work.

Security regulations have also been boosted on military bases added the Defence press service. Indeed, there will be more armed soldiers at the gates and more patrols. Providers of certain services such as deliveries are no longer authorised inside base facilities and to access a base they must identify themselves and undergo prior checking. These measures will apply to all military installations until further notice, explained the Defence press service.
