The search for Michael Vanassche hasn’t turned up anything

Sunday’s search for Michael Vanassche, the 18 year old from Moorsele who disappeared on Friday, has turned up nothing, according to the Eastern Flanders Prosecutor’s Office (Courtrai sector). The search will start again on Monday. The area around the De Vonke center, where the young man disappeared from, has been searched. Dozens of volunteers and local and federal police performed a visual search around the Heulebeek, a small area of water. Sniffer dogs and a helicopter were also used. These searches didn’t turn up anything. Firemen searched from the Heulebeek to the Lys.

The young man disappeared on Friday, at around Midnight. He left a party at the De Vonke center, and has been missing since. Anyone with any information can contact local Vlas police or Child Focus.
