Shots fired during a police chase in Antwerp

Two shots were fired during a police chase in Antwerp in the early hours of Saturday morning, says the VRT website deredactive.be. Police chased after a driver who was trying to escape a police check at Zwijndrecht. The police car had an accident and had to stop the chase. The driver turned around to drive towards the officers, who fired several shots. But the driver was able to speed off before officers were able to go after him again. This second chase also finished in an accident, which involved another vehicle. As they were injured, the officers and the occupants of the other vehicle were taken to hospital. The driver they were chasing fled.
