Football clubs from the 1st Division to the Promotion division owed Belgium a total of 1,067 million euros in VAT on the 16th of February 2015, said the Finance Minister Johan Van Overtveldt (New Flemish Alliance). He was responding to a question in parliament. Around 6,070,32 euros has been contested by the clubs concerned. In Division 1, two clubs owe a total of 408,800,91 euros in VAT, of which 6,070,32 is contested. In Division 2, two clubs also owe 152,001,99 euros . In Division 3 and the Promotion division, no less than 18 clubs owe an estimated total of 507,090,31 euros.
A club in Division 2 and five clubs in Division 3 or the Promotion division have drawn up a repayment plan.
