The man found dead in the Albert canal in Eigenbilzen has now been identified as Hassan Azinfou, 34, from Liege, and who had been missing since Sunday, March 22nd, announced Limburg Public Prosecutor's office on Wednesday. He was last seen in Liege's Saint-Leonard neighbourhood. He was found to have a gun wound. The Tongres division of the public prosecutor's office has opened an investigation for homicide although, due to where the victim resided, the investigation may be transferred to the Liege prosecutor.
