Anonymous Belgium says it has identified the person responsible for the cyber-attacks on IPM and Rossel

The Belgian branch of Anonymous published a video on its Youtube account on Tuesday. In it, they claim to have identified the person responsible for the cyber-attacks on the Le Soir, La Libre Belgique, and La Dernière Heure websites on Sunday and Monday. This person “is just a teenager addicted to video games”, and used “methods available to everybody”, according to the activist group. On Monday, Anonymous published a video announcing “operation Fallaga”, to “strongly react” to “the Fallaga team’s attacks on European media”. “We will not let freedom of speech be damaged by radical extremists”, they said.

On Tuesday, in a new video, they claimed to have identified the private Facebook account of the person responsible for the cyber-attacks, and passed the information on to the federal police’s Computer Crime Unit.

The individual claimed responsibility for the attack on Twitter. He was a member of the “Muslim Section, which is close to Islamic State hackers”, according to Anonymous, and lives in Belgium.
