PTB MP Raoul Hedebouw and an Audi employee filed an urgent official complaint at the Bockstael (Brussels) police station, against Prime Minister Charles Michel and N-VA President Bart De Wever, on Tuesday at approximately 1:00pm, because of the index jump proposed by the government. The complaint will be sent to the Brussels prosecutor. The symbolic act echoes the coming vote on the index jump, expected late on Tuesday or Wednesday in the Parliament. “The government measure will transfer between 2 and 3 billion from employees to bosses annually,” said Mr. Hedebouw. “Social democrats still do not accept this index jump. A vote will not stop our fight. A royal decree on pre-pensions was already voted in but the government still had to retract it,” added the MP.
According to Mr. Hedebouw, the 2% non-indexation leads to a loss of 34,000 euros in purchasing power after 25 years of work, for an average family of 3. Accusations of simple theft must be filed individually and must name someone.
