A B-Fast Team of 45 people left for Nepal on Sunday

A B-Fast (Belgian First Aid and Support Team) Team of 45 people left for Nepal on Sunday. They will leave from Melsbroek airport, the Foreign Affairs minister Didier Reynders confirmed on Sunday. Three experts from Luxemburg, two experts from Germany and two people from the European Crisis Centre will join the Belgian team, he added. The Belgian team will be made up of people from the Defense department, Civil protection and doctors. “The mission objective is to provide immediate help, including looking for survivors and first aid. An evaluation will be done after 4 or 5 days on site”, said Mr Reydners.

The minister also said he didn’t known if any Belgians were among the victims. “90 Belgians live there, and we have been unable to contact 26 of them so far”, he said.
