The plane that took the B-Fast humanitarians to Nepal left Katmandu for New Delhi early on Wednesday, with 46 Belgians and 91 other Europeans on board. Among the passengers was an injured Dutchman who lives in Belgium and a young Nepalese girl together with her adoptive Belgian mother. The group that left Nepal aboard the Defense department plane included 46 Belgians, as well as French, German, Swedish, Irish and Danish people, among others. Around 50 Dutch were also among the evacuees. They were originally due to leave on a Dutch plane, but it was not able to take-off on Tuesday due to the amount of traffic at Katmandu airport.
Among the group that left for Belgium is the little Nepalese girl Dipika and her adoptive mother, Benedicte Van de Sande. They had been living in Nepal for three years as the adoption had not yet been officially recognised. After the earthquake, the government decided to give her a temporary humanitarian visa.
