The Trois Points cemetery vandalised

The Trois Points cemetery (Liège Province) was vandalised over the weekend, several papers reported on Tuesday. Between 20 and 50 graves were damaged. The Trois Points cemetery was targeted by vandals over the weekend. This is the first time that an incident like this has happened in the commune.

Between 20 and 50 graves were desecrated. There was also a swastika on the ground. “We even found a swastika on a plot protected by fences and a chain. They made a Nazi symbol on the “paupers” plot with the chain. It’s very shocking and surprising”, Pascal Henriet, the councilor for cemeteries, told L’Avenir Verviers.

The councilor told the papers that the damage is quite extensive, as plaques have been damaged and gravestones have been broken. An investigation is underway to try and identify the perpetrators.
