The Angry Bikers ride with politicians and their representatives

The Belgian Federation of Angry Bikers (BFAB) invited politicians on a motorbike ride. They started out from Nivelles on Sunday. The idea was to share what Bikers feel on the road, and discuss the changes the BFAB wants. Nearly every party was represented. At the end of the day, the BFAB was feeling positive: the Bikers felt they were understood by those who traveled through the Walloon Brabant and Hainaut with them. “The head of the Federal Mobility Minister’s cabinet, the head of the Road network division in Wallonia, and the son of Olivier Maingain for the FDF were all there. It went well: we felt there was understanding for regular motorbike riders, and the dialogue was very constructive”, said Joe Vereecke, the president of the BFAB.

The association tells authorities about imminent dangers that pose a threat to Bikers, which its members spot while on the road. According to Joe Vereecke, the collaboration with Wallonia is really working: 85% of the problems reported are dealt with quite quickly. The Bikers fight against high security barriers struck a chord with the Minister in charge, Maxime Prévot.

The BFAB has moved on to new ground: reduced VAT on safety equipment for Bikers, like in other European countries.
