Queen Mathilde will go to Ethiopia

Queen Mathilde will go to Ethiopia at the end of the year, Royalty magazine, part of the Flemish chain VTM, reported on Sunday evening. They were quoting  a statement from the palace. The Queen will be going as honorary president of Unicef Belgium. When exactly she will go is not yet clear. According to Royalty, her trip will be linked to child rights, a subject the palace says is important to the Queen. This trip will replace a trip to Burkina Faso, which should have taken place in November 2014. It was cancelled due to problems in the country.

The aim of the cancelled trip was to inform people about child malnutrition and the need to protect their rights.
