French farmers have set up a filtering roadblock on the E19 near Hensies

Traffic along the Brussels-Mons-Valenciennes E19 motorway near Hensies was disrupted in both directions on Wednesday evening. French farmers put up a filtering roadblock near the border control point, federal police said. The motorway was blocked in both directions by the farmer’s protest. They used tractors to set up a filtering roadblock near the border control point at Hensies, according to the federal police’s website. Going between France and Belgium was difficult.

Federal police said the protest was expected to last 2 hours, after talking to one of the organisers. They were not told what time it would start.

Police advised motorists to “avoid the area”.
