Prince Amedeo married Lili Rosbosch last year, but in failing to ask for and to obtain the King’s permission, the prince loses his place in the line of succession to the Belgian throne, under article 85 of the Constitution, revealed Story Magazine on Tuesday. The information, shared by the website hln.be, was confirmed by a source close to the Royal Family, who stated that it shows how Princess Astrid’s son is determined to live independently, free from any official duties. According to Story Magazine, Lili will not bear the title of Princess of Belgium, the lack of royal authorisation meaning the government also follows suit. She could, however, hold the titles of Archduchess of Austria and Princess of Hungary, titles inherited by Amedeo from his father’s side.
