According to Spanish notaries, Belgians are still among the most active foreigners on the country’s property market: 820 properties were sold to Belgians during the first trimester of 2015.That’s the equivalent of nine a day, La Libre Belgique said on Wednesday. Nearly one Spanish property transaction in a hundred is with a Belgian. That’s more (up 8%) than during the first trimester the year before. Belgians are now in fourth position on the Spanish foreign property owner’s table, behind the English, French, and Germans. In total, 12.2% of Spanish property purchases are made by foreigners.
The main reasons Belgians buy property in Spain are the low prices, the climate, the leisure possibilities and the quality of life.
