Uccle: a Stib agent stabbed in the arm with a screwdriver by a motorist

A Stib agent was stabbed in the arm with a screwdriver by a motorist who had also tried to run him over. The suspect fled straight after the attack. The incident happened in Uccle on Wednesday afternoon. The agent was taken to hospital to be treated and police are looking for his attacker, who has not been identified, Stib spokesman Guy Sablon said on Wednesday. His statement confirmed information that had appeared in La Dernière Heure.

The Stib agent was escorting and guiding passengers to the Place Vanderkindere in Uccle. A new tramway is currently being put in place, meaning there have been changes to the shuttle bus-line.

A van nearly ran him over while he was helping an elderly person to the bus stop. The driver stopped and rolled down the window. When the agent approached the vehicle, the driver stabbed him in the arm with a screwdriver before fleeing. The victim was taken to the hospital in a state of shock.
